How Powder Coating works

Powder coatings are based on polymer resin systems, combined with curatives, pigments, leveling agents, flow modifiers, and other additives. These ingredients are melt mixed, cooled, and ground into a uniform powder similar to baking flour. A process called electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) is typically used to achieve the application of the powder coating to a metal substrate. This application method uses a spray gun, which applies an electrostatic charge to the powder particles, which are then attracted to the grounded part. After application of the powder coating, the parts enter a curing oven where, with the addition of heat, the coating chemically reacts to produce long molecular chains, resulting in high cross-link density.

These molecular chains are very resistant to breakdown. This type of application is the most common method of applying powders. Powder coatings can also be applied to non-metallic substrates such as plastics and medium density fiberboard (MDF).
Sometimes a powder coating is applied during a fluidized bed application. Preheated parts are dipped in a hopper of fluidizing powder and the coating melts, and flows out on the part. Post cure may be needed depending on the mass and temperature of the part and the type of powder used. No matter which application process is utilized, powder coatings are easy to use, environmentally friendly, cost effective, and tough.

Swing Gates

The most popular of our driveway gates to enhance privacy, safety and aesthetics. Secured with hinges on the sides, most driveway gates are double opening as standard and close to meet in the middle using a hydraulic ram. These gates require a spacious driveway

Sliding Gates

These gates are more suited if you have less space on your driveway for opening and closing. One complete gate leaf which can be installed as tracked or cantilever style by automation or manual.
If you have even ground across your gate opening we recommend tracked sliding gates, wheels are fitted to the bottom of the gate which slide along a track which we insert into your driveway. The motor system can either be installed above or below ground according to your requirements and space on the drive.
Whereas if you have uneven ground across your driveway we recommend a cantilever sliding gate, this option is trackless and suspended above the ground.

Railings

All our railings are made to measure and can be fixed either on the floor or on top of a wall, between posts or directly to the brickwork, a perfect way to complement your driveway gates and create a secure perimeter around your property

* Powder coating has a long lifespan, however, to maintain the durability we recommend that metalwork is cleaned with warm soapy water twice a year to prevent any build up. Exclusions to any areas that have to be drilled / cleaned out after powder coating for specific purposes.
